Academy Development Plan

“Wodensborough Ormiston Academy has taken great strides forward in the last three years. Work is challenging, and pupils are now learning well across a wide range of subjects. Much of this is down to the principal’s inspirational leadership, and the teamwork that extends throughout the school. All the staff want to do the best for every one of the pupils. Pupils learn to respect each other’s cultures and traditions, and the school is quick to act on any bullying. Pupils recognise the improvements in the school, and say that they feel safe.”

Our ADP focuses on 6 key areas of improvement:

  • Improving Behaviour and Culture
  • Strengthening Reading
  • Developing Great Teaching
  • Achieving Excellent Outcomes
  • Attend to Achieve
  • Cultivating Character & Culture

All of our academy development work is underpinned by the strong foundations and high expectations of attendance and our Safeguarding first ethos. Four key pillars support the work and run through each development area as golden threads. They are:

  • Inclusion
  • Disdvantage
  • Leadership
  • Raising Achievement

This allow us to achieve our mission of ‘Believe, Achieve, Succeed’ through which we are ambitious for all pupils. We are here to change lives.
