The maths curriculum aims to equip students with the knowledge and ability to solve real-life problems by breaking things down into a series of simpler steps and to persevere in seeking solutions.
We also aim to inspire students to become confident and inquisitive mathematical thinkers. We want your child to question why we are doing what we do, to really understand the mathematics and in turn gain a much deeper understanding of its importance in everyday life, and for their future success.
We also aim for our students to develop an appreciation of the beauty and power of mathematics, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity for the subject. We have a fundamental belief that all students are able to succeed in mathematics and this is achieved through the process of consistent practice and application of skills which is underpinned by effective curriculum sequencing.
