RSHE

Our RSHE curriculum

The RSHE Curriculum aims to empower all students to make informed decisions, dynamic judgements, and understand the actions and choices of others in order for them to keep themselves, their friends and family safer within the community.

The teaching of RSHE across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 is underpinned by the four pillars of Wellbeing, Inclusivity, Resilience and empowerment (WIRE) which is taught through the facilitation of passionate debate, discussion and exploration in a safe and open environment . Through our curriculum we aim to embed tolerance and understanding in all students through the explicit teaching of British values.

Students will be allowed to deepen their knowledge and understanding, extend and rehearse fundamental life skills and further explore attitudes, values and attributes acquired during their RSHE journey.

The RSHE curriculum is flexible and adapts to meet the needs of each cohort based on internal, local and national data and contemporary and topical issues, ensuring that students are as prepared as possible to leave WOA to become successful and functioning citizens of modern Britain.
